Job Brief
We are looking for a senior Ruby on Rails engineer to join the development team to work for a client that is a leading provider of school safety software and student welfare systems.
Responsibilities:
- Contributing code to a standard that does not need to be tested
- Bringing essential features from concept to production
- Improving product safety, quality, maintainability, and performance
- Implementing features, bug fixes, enhancements, and system design
- Conducting code reviews, providing meaningful feedback to other engineers, and quality assurance on projects
- Participating in Scrum activities
- Delivering on commitments made at the beginning of each sprint
- Providing deep expertise in at least one programming environment
- Use of basic knowledge and proficiency in at least one additional programming language.
Requirements
- A professional with at least 2+ years of Ruby on Rails software development experience
- Knowledge of MariaDB or MySQL
- Familiar with VueJS 3, modern Javascript (> ES6), and Typescript
- Knowledge of industry standards, frameworks, and design patterns
- Experience following best practices for code quality – design and code reviews
- Ability to adhere to existing technology guidelines and develop software components following the existing conventions and patterns
- Skills in working with distributed software solutions
- Experience with the Agile process and Scrum ceremonies.
